ePortfolios as learner centred tools for learning

Steve Pitman and I have a common interest in ePortfolios , my own interest is from a learning and reflection perspective, encouraging students to be motivated and in control of their own learning; Steve’s interest stems from the compulsory requirement and integration of ePortfolios into professional practice in health care.
In this discussion I describe how I encouraged students to use ePortfolios for reflective learning as part of their continous learning journey on a MSc programme; while Steve is focused on talking about how eportfolio platforms can be used within the health professions to demonstrate competencies for skills based learning and encourage reflective practice also.
